As the title states is there anyway to retrieve the OS password, cli password? I have access to unity connection administrator only at this point. I have already seen how to reset the admin password which I don't need.

CLI or OS please

Hi,

Please check the following

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/8x/os_administration/guide/8xcucosagx/8xcucosag020.html#wp1053218

I already stated that I don't need that password. That link will not get you into the CLI or the OS

I am pretty sure this procedure would help you get the CLI/OS  password reset. have you tried it?  Don't get confused with the "Resetting Administrator and Security Passwords" heading , the administrator mentioned here is the OS administrator.

Manish

It says error, invalid login and resets the login windows to empty

I have tried this first and got nothing, thanks anyways

It seems that the procedure is not being followed correctly. Check the following link with screenshots of the same procedure ( it is for CUCM but applies to CUC as well ).

https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/60721/cucm-operating-system-administrator-password-recovery

Also, if you are running CUC on UCS and not on MCS then do check the follow up questions at the bottom of the above mentioned link as the procedure related to cd rom detection is diff for UCS.

There is no other way to do it.

Manish

Is this for the CICM? because I tried logging there with pwrecovery and pwreset and nothing. I have tried logging in using those credentials on every interface there is and it wont log in.

You will need to do this procedure from the console of server itself i.e, Unity Connection in this case. So login using Vsphere client to the ESXi host on which you have built this CUC server and then go to the console from there and do it.

Deepak

Sorry, I just realized that I have to do this through the Console...Thanks

I don't think there is mechanism at this point to retrieve your old OS password, if that's what you mean.

Thanks,

Vijay

Hi Vijay,

There is a mechanism, the procedure to reset the security and OS passwords is the same
