I have a customer with NEC SV8300 and SV8500 phone systems interested in implementing Unity Connection for voicemail. Cisco has published integration information for the NEAX2400 with PIMG/TIMG, but not on these newer systems. Looking at NEC documentation it looks like the 8300 and 8500 have serial ports for using MCI so I'm thinking the PIMG/TIMG will still work but I'm not sure the programming on the NEC side is going to be the same as the NEAX2400.
Has anyone done this integration between Unity Connection and SV8300 or SV8500? If so, was it PIMG/TIMG or some other method like QSIG or SIP. Although I can't find any specific information about these systems integrating with QSIG or SIP, I'm wondering whether anyone has done an integration with either of these NEC systems with either of these protocols.
Thanks,
Mike Gross

Try using a tie line between the two systems. Make sure you can configure QSIG on the tie trunk coming from the NEC to Unity Connections

I do not believe there is any documentation for an integration with an NEC SV8300/SV8500. That being said, you would not have a supported configuration unless you worked with the business unit to perform an "Out-of-Box" Qualification.
The qualification is handled by:

The PIMGs emulate TDM phones and work OK, but we'd like to go all IP/soft phone. Can Unity be used with the NEC SV8500 without a PIMG?
