Hi,

I have a brand new Unity 4.0(5) UM with Exchange 2k installation in a CCM integration. When a subscriber hits the message button, then enters their password, they get dead air. This is the only warning in event viewer:

EVT_MSG_PRIMARY_DOWN_ON_STARTUP

ID: 1017

Source: CiscoUnity_ExchangeMonitor

Message: The Partner Exchange Server %1 is offline during ExchangeMonitor Startup. All message notification processing is disabled until this has been resolved. When the Exchange Monitor detects that this server is back online, registration for notifications will proceed.

The Exchange server is up and running and I can ping it fine from the Unity server.

TAC hasn't been able to fix it...any ideas?

Thanks

Hi -

Just a thought, from your Unity server go to Unity Tools Depot and run the DCGC Reconnect Settings tool. You aren't going to make any changes here, but there will be two tabs, one for Domain Controllers and the other for Global Catalog. On the Global Catalog Tab, press the Test Connection button. You should see a successful message return to you. You could also open a command window on the server and ensure you can ping the GC. When subscribers log in to the Unity conversation, the default action is to play the Recorded Name, one of the schema attributes populated to the GC. If your subscribers are hearing dead air instead of their recorded name, this could be an area to investigate further.
