Hi all,
If customer wants to deploy UM but wants separately in keeping the VM in different existing Email Exchange. Can Unity support it?? Many users don't want to keep extra VM in their existing Exchange because of the hard-disk size and backup issue.
thanks !

No, Unity is built on a Unified Messaging architecture which means all messages are in your inbox (email, voice, fax, receipts) - you cannot have messages splite across multiple mailboxes (the login rights would be a complete nightmare in such a scheme regardless).
If you want to do a VM only deployment you can create a new Exchange store for this - but if you want UM features, you need to use the user's mailboxes for this.

IC... thanks...
However, does cisco provide the doc on how to setup the existing exchange email server. From the CCO, I cannot get the exact detailed steps on how to setup the exchange server in order to co-operate with the Unity UM. Any idea??
Thanks
