Hi,
iĀ“m wondering if anyone can explain me the reason for this procedure in the 9.1 upgrade guide:
There is a statement that we have to do the upgrade to 9.1, do a drs backup and then install the whole thing from scratch!
I see a lot of problems and a tremendous amount of time for the upgrade.
I spoke to my vmware guys and no one can understand why we not only upgrade the virtual hardware and vmtools and thatĀ“s it.
Best regards
Steffen

Hi Steffen,
I'm not sure of your upgrade path, but the one linked above
assumes a migration from MCS hardware to Virtual build
as part of the listed process. This is shown in this step (Step 6);
After the DRS backup is complete, shut down the existing cluster to avoid any conflict with the virtual installation of the cluster.
So, if you are already running on a VM build this would not be applicable
Cheers!

...ok.
I was confused about the steps mentioned in the upgrade guide, expected something new...
And in fact iĀ“m not a native speaker...;-)
...than itĀ“s the way we have done it for years.
So i can relax and have a beer ;-)
Thanks
Steffen
