                   Hi,

This VG 224 is right out of the box and during the booting it displays these errors.

% Crashinfo may not be recovered at flash:crashinfo

% This file system device reports an error

Then when I tried to take a look at the flash it displayed

Router# dir flash

%Error opening slot0:/flash (File not found)

Does anyone know how to get rid of this error?

Hi Brian.

try dir all and see if it makes any difference.

You can also try to format your flash: put again the IOS into it and set the appropriate boot system command.

Carlo,

thanks for the info but I did try that and I found this

It does not affect any functionality of the router. It only cautions the user about unrecoverable crashinfo, so that user may configure other modes of collecting the Crashinfo.

Please configure:

exception crashinfo file slot0:crashinfo

Crashinfo would be written to the slot0 if the router crashes in the future.

Hi Brian.
Can you please post the output of a show file systems?

Thanks

Carlo

The VG 224 does not have flash instead it has a slot, which is termed as slot0: the error generated is due to VG crash.

Hence the the crash file is in slot0.

To retrieve the same, the following command can be used :

Copy slot0 tftp

This should work.

Kindly rate the post accordingly.

Kevin
