vg224 sccp fax issue with router mgcp

Hi

I have a customer runnig cucm 7.1.5 ,

my customr have a vg224 that configured as sccp gw in the cucm and a 2811

router that connect to the pstn via e1 pri, the 2811 is configured as mgcp gw in the cucm .

my problem is that is some cases we are not able to receive a fax call ,

and int same cases the fax are ifne ,

most of the failed faxes are comming from a fax software at the remote sides .like winfax and etc .

the vg224 and the 2811 router are configured as fax pass-through

can u try to help me ?

Post you config from VG224 and PSTN GWs and ensure the PRI ciruits are running clean with no errors or slips.

This is a known issue with FoIP. You can get this to work by setting configuration at three locations, CallManager, VG224, and your 2800 gateway:

In CallManager VG224 "Product Specific Configuration Layout:

I am sorry, but what is a known issue?

You cannot just slap faxes on the network and hope it will work by default, you need to plan what fax protocol you will use and configure it accordingly as different devices have different capabilities, and some faxing protocols are only supported on certain VoIP protocols, i.e. protocol-based T.38 does not work with SCCP, etc.

You can do fax passtrhough, modem passthrough, fax realy, NSE T.38, protocol-based T.38, which one are you using?
