Hello Philippe,

I just had the same issue when testing Windows-7 Enterprise (32 and 64 bits)

The play-back work fine when the phone is selected, but just do nothing when you select the sound card

I did open a case with Cisco regarding this issue, I will update as soon as I got an answer.

Cool,

let me know

Phillipe,

What OS are you using on your PC btw?

I would start with the compatability matrix here...

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/compatibility/matrix/cuclientmtx.html#wp364674

Make sure you have the Outlook 2007 4/30 hotfix update required/mentioned.

Any updates on the case you opened with Cisco?

I am having the exact same problem on Windows 7 32-bit with Outlook 2007 fully patched and no incompatible Yamaha drivers. Rebooting doesn't help.

Plays back fine when selecting the phone but nothing happens when the sound card is selected.

Please let us know if you have a solution or a workaround.

Thanks,

Lucas

Noone has a fix for this yet?  I've been searching for answers all day, and it always ends here.  Any word from TAC?

I have the same issue.  When clicking on the playback button on the Outlook Media Master Toolbar, it does nothing (dead link).

My environment:

- Win XP Pro SP3

- Cisco Unity 8.0

- MS Office 2k3 (11) SP3

- Some generic Media Control Device

- IDT HD Audio Codec 5.10.0.6124

I have checked the following

- Compatability (and yes, I am)

- I logged into Unity and deleted all of my messages because my mbx was full.

- I removed ViewMail Phone properties

- Changed Playback/Recording properties to the soundcard

- I checked and unchecked 'Download audio before playing'

- I erased/entered correct info on the 'Secure Messaging' tab

- CSA doesn't have any logged Security Events

- Nothing in Semantic logs

- Nothing in Blue Coat Proxy Client (it's disabled anyways)

- I restarted Outlook a million times

- And yes, this happens to other machines.

- Even on a machine that doesn't have any CSA or Bluecoat installed

Will probably have to reach out to TAC if noone else has... and if you have... no sharing?????

You guys may be running into a known issue: http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCti04412

Doing a search on the Bug Toolkit for "viewmail OR PC OR speaker OR play" results in a few defects, including the one above.

Hope that helps,

Brad

---------- SOLUTION --------

( Today 04-11-2010 )

Viewmail 8.0.4 is not available on cisco website.

You can open a service request and ask them 8.0.4.

This will fix this bug and a lot of other bugs.

For now it's only available in English...

Thank you both very much.  Will try.
