Yet another email notification problem

Ok, I have the UC540 with CUE 7.0 and CME 7.1. I've read many different possible problems and solutions to trying to get email notification to work, but none have worked whatsoever. Here's what I get when I trace my voicemail from CUE CLI:

So when I ping pod51009.outlook.com, it hangs for a while then gives me an 'unknown host' error. The server is definitely correct and my DNS settings are also correct (I used OpenDNS for the above testing). I also configured my NAT in CCA to allow 10.1.10.1 to route through my WAN (71.XX.XX.XX). I've also tried to use gmail's smtp, hotmail's smtp, and several free smtp relays I've randomly found and picked from the web and all give similar results/errors. Any suggestions?

Instead of hostname, can you try the actual ip address for smtp.

I forgot to note in my OP that the server requires TLS [and its default port of 587]. I can't change this requirement, but remember that I've tried several smtp relays, including those that use port 25 and those that don't require authentication and got similar results/errors.

I'm not sure if this means anything, but:

When I ping google.com from CUE, I get the following:

5 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 4003ms, ipg/ewma 1000.959/0.000 ms

I'm able to ping my router fine. Anything?

Still having issues with this. When I try to add CUE's IP to the router's routing table using conf ip route 10.1.10.1 255.255.255.255 192.168.10.1, I get an error saying "%Invalid next hop address (it's this router)" . Am I doing this wrong?
