Hi,
new to UCS so sorry if question is asked badly..
Environment:
Cisco UCS 3.1
a requirement has come in to allow tenants to have dedicated blades demanded via a third party cloud portal.
Can ucs api be used to check
1- blade availability ( not already in production / spare capacity in chassis )
2- take SN of blade for reference
3- place OS on blade
4- take off the blade 'available' list
appreciate some of the steps above are probably best done by orchestration tools but just wanted to know how far the api can take us.
Thanks

UCS manager is not really multi tenant capable; although you can create users, with dedicated resources (e.g. blades, service profiles,.....), every user sees everything, although he has only r/w access to his own dedicated resources. This is not acceptable for a public cloud service; therefore all public cloud service providers using UCS make use of a additional layer (management / provisioning) on top of UCS manager.
Don't let cloud users directly login to UCS manager.
