Hi folks,
I'm running into some trouble trying to add a C210M2 server into vCenter's power management configuration to monitor the hardware. I've double checked the username and password for the BMC user and ensured that IPMI was enabled on the C210.
I receive the following error after entering the IPMI/iLO settings into vCenter 4.1:
The request failed because the remote server "servername" took too long to respond.
Error stack:
Call "HostSystem.UpdateIpmi" for object "servername" on vCenter Server "vcenterserver" failed.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Jay

Hi Padma,
Thanks for your reply. We did get this to work. We had to open an ACL to allow UDP traffic on port 623 to vCenter.
Found the port listings here in the VMWare KB:
kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1012382
Cheers!
Jay
