CIMC KVM Console issue

vishal-patil

Hello,

I am trying to figure out the issue with kvm console on APIC M1 server

I am having following issues -

1. when i click on open kvm console in cimc, it gives me error message that i am using old java version (instead of 1.6.0_14). But I am running java 8 update 101. I dont understand why I am getting this error

2. when i click continue, it downloads the jnlp file (which is completely empty)

various support forums and blogs have resolutions like downgrading java (for the first error). But, till now I dont have any luck

Any thoughts?

regards,

vishal

Greetings.

I believe the (1.6.0_14) version alert is generic.

Have you tried using a ver 7 version of java after removing java 8.x?

What CIMC version is active?

Thanks,

Kirk...

Yes, I tried version 7 update 9 and 21 (after reading several blogs and support forums)

Same result.

Firmware version: 1.5(4e)

Thanks,

Vish

If you haven't tried already, please disable, and then re-enable the vKVM functionality.

Check the Remote Presence tab, vKVM, uncheck the enabled, Save changes.

Repeat but put check back into the enabled box.

Also, make sure you clear java cached files, and browser cookies.

Thanks,

Kirk..

Hi,

Performed following steps -

1. My colleague suggested to reset cimc settings to factory default and after doing that I could download the jnlp file with content in it.

2. disabled and re-enabled the vKVM

3. cleared java cache and browsing cookies from browser (tried with IE and Chrome)

Now, when I tried to open jnlp file, I am getting following error -

com.sun.deploy.net.FailedDownloadException: Unable to load resource: https://xx.xx.xx.xx.:443/software/avctNuova.jar

I've attached the error

Regards,

Vish

Any thoughts on my last post?

Did you resolve it?

Hello,

I am getting practically the same error in my voice lab at home. Does anyone have any recommendations. Error file is attached.

Freddie

Please try completely uninstalling all Java JREs and then installing Java 7 u 21.
Then go "configure java >Security" and add an exception to trust CIMC ip address for java setting verification

Also are you having issues using a different web browser and/or computer?

Did you solve it ? i have the same problem.
