Cisco recently added a new product to its datacenter lineup: Cisco UCS Director (formerly Cisco Cloupia). As per the pdf
"Cisco UCS Director automates the provisioning of resource pools across physical, virtual, and bare-metal environments from a unified, centralized management console, reducing time-to-value for both applications and end users. UCS Director delivers native automated monitoring, OS and software updates, and resource utilization analysis to free your IT staff from mundane maintenance tasks"
The UCS Director supports various Flexpod solutions and multi-vendor platforms including HP blade/rack servers, Dell rack servers, EMC and NetApp storage solutions, Brocade switches, and Virtualization solutions from VMWare, Microsoft, Redhat and Citrix; in addition to Cisco UCS and Nexus.
With other vendor similar offerings, like VMware vCloud, Citrix Cloud Platform, BMC CLM, and IBM SmartCloud; does UCS Director has an edge? What do you think?
