Creating an Appliance Port, port mode Access fails

Hi,

I wanted to configure an ethernetport on one of our FI 6248 (Firmware 5.2(3)N2(2.22c) )for a directly attached linux server. Setting the port mode to access in the configure as Appliance Port dialog and selecting the right VLAN fails with an error: the appliance Port can't be created.

Using Trunk as port mode and than selecting just the needed lan works.

Any explanations, hints or suggestions?

Thanks  and regards . Götz Reinicke

Hallo Goetz

I don't know if connecting servers is officially supported or not. Specially non Cisco servers ?

Anyway: technically it should work, see eg.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/servers-unified-computing/ucs-5100-series-blade-server-chassis/116075-ucs-app-connectivity-tshoot-00.html

Btw. did you configure your vlan under the proper cloud ?

Walter.
