Hi Folks,
just one simple question:
- Is it possible to enable a "maintenance mode" for a dedicated server for a short period
of time, so that alerts or snmp-traps are not send, whatever happens ? And after that
switch back to normal mode ?
Because, if a ucs server is going down for reboot or something like that it always floods
our tivoli system with lots of snmp-traps, and when we make a simple restart this makes no sense
at all.
I discovered in the Eqipment, Server, General, Actions-Tab the action "Server Maintenance"
which offers the selection of "Decommision" or "Re-Acklowledge" ... i am not really aware
of what happens on both selections ....
but I didn´t find an explanantion what this really does and if it switches off the SNMP-alerting....
Is this the way I can realise to "silence" this dedicated server temporaily, or what would you
suggest ?????
Thank for your help ...
Marcel
