Hi all,
question about cabling....
what is best practise for interconnecting IOM to interconnect?
4 cables from IOM_A to Interconnect_A
4 cables from IOM_B to Interconnect_B
OR
2 cables from IOM_A to Interconnect_A
2 cables from IOM_A to Interconnect_B
2 cables from IOM_B to Interconnect_B
2 cables from IOM_B to Interconnect_A
tnx

Hi Dan,
You can't cross them. IOM A needs to connect to FI A and IOM B needs to connect to FI B. You can use 1, 2 or 4 cables to connect.

Hi Danilo,
Just to add to what Dan mentioned, you can only have one IOM connect to one FI i.e. left IOM to FI-A and right IOM to FI-B. This is to ensure two fabrics i.e. A & B in the entire UCS chassis.
On the number links make sure you set the number of links accordingly in the chassis discovery policy towise you would have issues with chassis discovery.
thanks
