Hi, need some expert advice here.
My client has a Nexus 1010 currently. It is loaded with Cisco NAM Virtual Service Blade Software 4.2.
Recently, they have decided to purchase another Nexus 1010 as a standby node.
My key question is do they have to purchase another Cisco NAM license for the standby node?
The reason is when I'd tried to configure a Nexus 1010 HA pair, the BOM generated is only a single NAM license for the pair.
Now I need to configure a single N1010 as standby node. The NAM license is available in the configuration, I'm not sure if I should included the NAM license in the BOM.
Thanks.

Vincent,
NAM does not have HA functionality. So, if you want to have NAM redundancy, you can install a standalone NAM on secondary Nexus 1010 and have same exact configuration as of the NAM in primary Nexus 1010.
Each NAM installation requires separate license as it is locked with HW appliance.
" show virtual-service-blade summary" would list both NAMs as primary.

Both Nexus 1010 and Nexus 1010-X support a maximum of 1 non-HA NAM. While multiple NAMs can be deployed it is technically not supported.

I see. So in our case, I guess I need not include a NAM license in the Standby node. Since only 1 NAM supported.
Thanks Matt and Padma...
