Strange errors with m2 blades connected over fiber channel to a 3par san

We are seeing numerous errors in the logs saying

Mar  9 10:00:19 **** kernel: rport-2:0-238: blocked FC remote port time out: removing rport

These hosts have 4 virtual hbas connected to a 3par san. we are seeing less than optimal io performance.
