UCS C240 M3 stuck on "configuring and testing memory..."

Hello all,

I have 2 brand new UCS C240 M3 Rack Servers (Product ID: UCSC-DBUN-C240-112, whose description is UCS C240M3 SFF 2xE5-2620 2x8GB RAID-11 2x650W SD RAILS EXPDR),

each with 2 CPUs, and 6x8G memories installed on DIMM slot A1, B1, C1, E1, F1, G1.

Also, we have both embedded RAID card and UCSC-RAID-11-C240 (LSI 2008 SAS RAID Mezzanine Card for UCS C240 server) on each server.

After I finished RAID 5 of 10 Drivers and CIMC NIC settings on 1 server, it reboots and comes back hanging on messages of "configuring and testing memory...., Confirguring Platform hardware...".  I do not believe that UCS server is so fragile.

Please advice solutions. your prompt help is highly appreciated.

Hello Tian,

Are both servers stuck at "Configuring and testing memory .. " screen ?

Do you have any additional PCI cards or devices connected to the server ?

Do you notice any error messages in the CIMC logs ( From CIMC webpage ," Server > Faults and Logs " section ) ?

Hello all,

Now i have same problem now . When i try to install recovery file from usb the server was shutdown and later the screen is showing "confiruring and testing memory as alway". I try to everthing but even i changed J37 but it is also not working.

Please help me

Hi Yuksel, 

Pls scroll down to the bottom of this post, u will see the solution and workaround for this issue. It was actually a bug...

If all the tricks in this post do not help u out, you might need a TAC SR to fix it.

I would like to thank you for your kinldy answer. I am sharing wiht you my  hardware configuration.  Do you think something is wrong about hardware config. Actually i am  a new user into the this sever (UCS C220). Even i have changed SAS1 and SAS2 but i still same message "Configuration and testin memory"

Please make advice for my problem
