UCS - Modify Chassis Discovery Policy

Hi All

I am going to modify the chassis discovery policy in UCS environment (6248 FI's and 5108) and need some clarification. Each FI is cabled with 2 links to each FEX and I want to change the Chassis/FEX Policy from 1 link to Port Channel.

What I need to confirm is that:

1. Can I create a Port Channel with blades mixed with VIC 1240 and 1280's? I'm pretty sure once all cards are Gen 2 it should be Ok but not 100%

2. Chassis 1 and 2 have FEX 1204 and Chassis 3 has 1208, I am assuming this is OK?

3. When I change the policy and re-ack the Chassis no outage should occur? Is this correct?

The Re-ack of the chassis will be disruptive.

Ro,

1) The port channels are between the IOM (FEX) and FI. So it will be supported by any combination of mezz cards in the chassis.

2) I am assuming you are talking about 2204 and 2208 IOMs. If that is the case these both support port channels when used with a 6200 based FI.
