6248UP Expansion Module Question

Does anyone know if the ports in the Expansion Module for the 6248UP (pn UCS-FI-E16UP=) can be used for same personality types as the fixed ports? We need ports for the uplink to the core and downlink to the chassis.  We are receiving differing information depending on the source.  Thank you.

As a user:

On the UP(Unified Port) chassis and expansion modules, you can designate the ports as all "Ethernet", all "Fibre Channel" or split - with "Left" ports being Ethernet and "Right" ports being FC. Changing the split point requires rebooting of that "module" (or the entire FI for "Fixed Module"/onboard ports). Once designated as Ethernet or FC, you may select any allowed role for that port type...

It may not be "obvious" at first but to change the split point, select Equipment / Fabric Interconnects / FI - A or FI-B.

Then select the "Configure Unified Ports" option to launch the wizard.

To actually change the "split point", move the slider below the image of the Fixed or expansion module(s) as appropriate -  the iiidcator color of the ports will change to reflect Ethernet or FC...

Clicking Finish will reboot each of the modified items...
