Hi,
I'm considering attaching a new UCS C220 M5 server with a 1387 VIC adapter to an existing 6248UP FI pair.
Since the 1387 adapter is 40 Gbps QSFP+ and the 6248UP is 10 Gbps SFP I assume I'll have to use something like a SFP-4SFP10G-CU3M, 40GBASE-CR4 QSFP+ to 4 x 10GBASE-CU SFP+ direct-attach breakout cable assembly, 3m passive
The 1387 VIC adapter lists the 6248 FI as compatible, but I just want to confirm the steps. Do I configure the 6248 ports in something like a "break-in" mode? I've seen documentation on to configure break out port on a 633
Reading this thread is something quite similar, just looking for any gotchas before I proceed.

Hi,
While using Cisco VIC 1385 and 1387 in a 10G connection you would a require a 40G to 10G QSFP converter but you cannot use the 4x10 Breakout Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) cables and 4x10 Active Optical (OAC) cables.
