ALUA enabled igroups in the CVD Sharepoint Flexpod doc?

Hi,

I was reading over the Microsoft SharePoint 2010 on Flexpod for VMware (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/solutions/Enterprise/Data_Center/App_Networking/SharePoint_FlexPod.html) and noticed that they had Microsoft Clustering configured, but it didn't mention anything about ALUA being enabled or not.  From my understanding, ALUA is highly recommended on ESX, but not with MS clustering.

Can someone shed some light regarding ALUA on this CVD.  I'm suprised this detailed CVD doesn't mention anything about ALUA being enabled or not.

Hi Daniel,

According to NetApp (general) best practices, the load balancing for MS cluster disks within VMware VMs should be set to Most Recently Used (so no ALUA, which would use Round Robin).

I don't see why that would be any different for FlexPod, but arguably it should be stated clearly in the CVD.

Regards,
Radek
