Change name VLANs in UCS

HI,

We would like to change the name of vlan in UCS. We didn´t find how we do.

Our configure is:

scope eth-uplink
create vlan oldname 3275

scope org Virtualized
scope vnic-templ ethx.dvsVMs-A
create eth-if oldname

scope org Virtualized
scope vnic-templ ethy.dvsVMs-B
create eth-if oldname

Somebody help us please ?

Regards.

If you are wanting to change the name, you will need to :

  • remove references from the original one (i.e. vnic templates, service profile templates, etc),
  • delete the old named vlan,
  • create the new vlan name
  • apply it to the previous locations.  This is assuming you are going to use the same vlan ID.

Obviously, this is something you will probably need a maintenance window for, unless a short term vlan communication outage can be tolerated in your particular scenario.

Thanks,

Kirk...

Hi,

Thanks for response.
We imagine that we will have to delete and create vlan. It was only confirmed our suspicions. It will be the same vlan id.

We will try to have a maintenace window to do the job.

Thanks!!
