Dear all.

I'm Yoong Huh.

I've question for CIMC access.

In my customer site, there is a UCSC-M240 server.

I need to access to CIMC , there is no ip configuration in CIMC server (maybe it can be default setting)

I know that, i should confugration  ip address of CIMC for Rebooting UCS server, but it cannot.

Because of customers wants.

How can i access to CIMC and get techsupport log file without CIMC IP address configuration?

Is there any way to configure the IP address on procesing server?

Regards.

Yoong,

if the CIMC default config is set to DHCP then probably it is waiting for the DHCP server switch to assign an IP to it.

please move forward.

Saurabh

Hey Yoong,

thanks for your query.

You need to access the CIMC configuration utility to set up CIMC IP/login credentials for the very first time by pressing F8 at server boot using KVM.

If no IP then there's no connectivity with CIMC GUI/CLI.

Default login credentials are pre-setup but no IP address.

Hi Saurabh.

Thanks for your reply.

How about DHCP configuration?

I know that the CIMC  default IP configuration is DHCP.

So, How about that if i configure the DHCP server on a Switch device , and connect to CIMC Mgt. port.

I think CIMC can recieve the IP address from DHCP server switch.

Hi saukotha.

I checked the DHCP in my lab, so it work.

If the CIMC IP default config is correctly DHCP, it can be positive to me and my customer .

Regards and Thanks.

Thanks Yoong, happy to help :)
