Greetings.

You first need to check the BIOS, boot order setting in the CIMC and see if the boot order matches what you think you should be booting to.

To start with some basics:

  • What kind of server
  • What OS
  • What kind of boot device were you booting to?  single drive, Raid controller virtual drive/raid volume, onboard controller (software raid), etc.

Thanks,

Kirk...

Hi RT,

The error pops up when the CIMC is unable to find the device it is booting from.

Kindly check the boot order of the server.
>> If it is a standalone C-series server, navigate to Compute > BIOS > Configure Boot Order > Actual Boot Devices

>>If it is an integrated UCS Manager server, This can be seen in the Server x > Service Profile y > Boot Order Tab > Expand the boot policy.

======================================================

+ If the boot order is that of embedded lun / M.2  SSDs disks(internal boot drives) are being used a re-seat of the drives will be suggested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqnsT_RbbZo

+ If the M.2 SSDs are being used as boot devices, a re-seat of the same will be suggested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wf2pK5vCgs

+ if it from the SAS RAID controller, please navigate to Storage and check if the RAID Card or the bootable RAID/disk is still visible or not

+ if it is a remote boot up from SAN, contact storage vendor if no changes were made on the UCS end.

+ If the boot order is incorrect, please create a relevant boot policy.

+ If the boot order is listed incorrectly, please apply the suitable policy
