Cisco Nexus 5 K - To change from FCoe to NPV - Implications

Hello all & greetings.

Is it correct that if I have a fully configured N7K / N5K without the FCoE and NPV features enabled and subsequently ENABLE both these 2 feaatures, I will lose all configurations? Is that NX-OS version dependent? Any work arounds for such a situation? Is this due to any ISSU issues?

Please let me know , if possible with any reference material / links.

Thanks!

Kishan,

Enabling the FCoE feature is not disruptive, however enabling NPV mode is.  This will disable many Fibre Channel services no longer needed (FCNS, Zoning etc). Change between NPV & Non-NPV mode is something you normally do during installation, or you'll need to prepare for network disruption. When you enable NPV, your system configuration is erased and the system is rebooted with NPV mode enabled.  This is applicable on all versions of NXOS code.
