Connecting directly from FI to storage array ISCSI

Currently we have our fabric interconnect communicating to tegile storage via Nexus 6k and unfortunately as one vlan on a trunk. I want to separate the traffic and I could create port channels to the nexus 6ks with only the storage vlan traffic. Would it be possible or desirable to directly connect the storage array to the fabric interconnects with no switch in between?

You can connect your iSCSI storage solution directly as 'appliance' ports.  Please take a look at
