Hello,

I have UCS Servers B200M with package version 3.1(2b)B. I would like to configure a delay when the power is turn off and it come back again, the reason is SAN device start before that servers, in this case I want to set a delay in UCS Servers, I tried this options:

OS Boot Watchdog Timer: enabled
OS Boot Watchdog Timer Timeout Policy: reset
OS Boot Watchdog Timer Timeout: 10-minutes

This option is not work, the UCS server reset the server when the OS is already started.

Other option:

Boot Option Retry: enabled.

I do not know if this option works for this case.

Could you help me to configure or tell me because not work fine OS Boot Watchdog?

Thank you very much in advance.

The BIOS policy options that would probably be applicable to your needs are under the Boot Options subtab

Boot option retry  - Enabled (retries without requiring user input)

Cool Down Time (sec)  15,45,90

Number of Retries - Infinite, 13,5

Hello,

Thank you very much for your time, I only have one option, it is the following:

Boot option retry  - Enabled.

I don't find the other options. I attached a screenshot.

On the other hand, Should Watchdog work for this case?

Thanks you very much again.

Suspect your older firmware version does not have the options yet.

I am running 4.04d in the lab and that shows:

bios boot options2.JPG

If you actual have the OS Boot Watchdog timer settings:

Then those can help do a reset vs just sitting at an error screen.

Hello,

Thanks for you answering. Then Watchdog is used for detect a blue screen of death or other error, isn't it? I thought that Watchdog is be able to detect if OS is starting or no.

In this case, the option "Boot option retry" would be a good option if SAN start before that the servers?

Thanks for you help.
