DIMM/Rank Sparing

Currently, I have blades B200M3 with 16GB (Qty: 12)==192GB total – populated with factory default setting.

• •1. DIMM Sparing:-- What is usable memory and how many module will be used as spare?
  
• •2. Rank Sparing:- What is usable memory and how many module will be used as spare?
  
• •3. When I choose DIMM/Rank Sparing and applied it to service profile, OS Windows 2012 is still reporting full capacity—192GB. Why DIMM and Rank sparing is not reserving any spare RAM?

Hello UCS community...

Does any one come across or tested DIMM/Rank sparing option?  Hope someone will answer above question...

Hi Hetal ,

After some investigation about this feature, I want to inform you that the memory sparing is not supported in UCS blade servers.

Recommended to use memory mirroring instead.
