ESX 5.5 Teaming Issue VIC1225

my environment is like this:

2 c220 M3 Servers with VIC1225 connected to 2 X Nexus 5548.

i created 8 vNICs and 2 vHBAs and install ESX 5.5.

when tring to add second nic for Teaming i lose connectivity to ESX.

i tried with and wihtout ehterchannel on the nexus side but every time is the same.

when only one side is connected (Nexus A for example) everything is perfect and no performance or connectivity issue, only when add a second nic to the VSWITCH connection s lost.

when loadbalancing policy was route base on port id things looked ok until ESX reboot (when not using VPC)

when using VPC load balance was route base on ip hash when but then immidietly lost connectivity.

on the VIC1225 only configured the VLAN for the vHBA that use VSAN (different between two sides ofcourse).

Padramas, i saw that you familiar with this configuration can you assist?

thanks,

Hi Yoed,

If the configuration is correct, the problem could be due to CSCuf65032. Please get the following:

- esxcfg-vmknic -l

- esxcfg-nics -l

Indicate which vmk and vmnics are being used for the vSwitch in question.

Thanks,

Shankar
