Hi,

There is a DC environment, hosted on IBM blade servers, they have different OS's, one of the OS's is IBM AIX Power 6 which is hosting an Oracle Database.

We would like to provide a DC recovery site using Cisco UCS servers, before doing so, I want to be certain  about below points:

  1. IBM AIX power 6 compatibility with CISCO UCS servers?
  2. If we decided to choose CISCO UCS blade servers, what are the limitations toward the virtaulization?
  3.  If we virtualize both environments, the current  DC and the new DR, what kind of limitations we may face in terms of virtuatization features?

Regards,

Karwan

 Please have a look at

http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/interoperability/matrix/r_hcl_B_rel2-21.pdf

Under OS support, you don't see any support for AIX !

Power 6 is the IBM hardware chip archtitecture; UCS is 100% based on Intel chip set.
