imc supervisor

Hi all,

we deployed the Cisco IMC Supervisor for VMware yesterday. So far so good - everthing is up and running. Afterwards i added 2 C220 M4 Rackserver, the connection Status is success, but the Connection Message says -- Connection Failed: Version 2.0(10b) is not supported. Only versions above 1.5(4) for C-Series are supported.

Until yesterday i always thought 2.0 is higher then 1.5 :)

Does anyone have or had the same issue?

Regards,

Alex

Hmm, you are right, the bug shouldn't reference an article that is not public facing yet.

You'll probably need to open a tac case (please reference the https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuz24466 bug), and they should be able to hook you up with an updated .xml file, along with instructions.

Since the article hasn't been flagged as public facing yet, I can't just drop the contents out here.

Thanks,

Kirk...

Hi Alex

This are standalone servers; if you check

http://www.cisco.com/web/techdoc/ucs/interoperability/matrix/matrix.html

you see that you are 100% correct !

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/servers-unified-computing/ucs-c-series-rack-servers/datasheet-c78-733571.html

The IMC Supervisor supports the following platforms:

Cisco UCS C-Series Rack Servers: Firmware Release 1.5(4) or later

     Cisco UCS C220 M3

     Cisco UCS C240 M3

     Cisco UCS C220 M4

     Cisco UCS C240 M4

     Cisco UCS C460 M4

     Cisco UCS C22 M3

     Cisco UCS C24 M3

     Cisco UCS C420 M3

     Cisco UCS C3160

Walter.

Hi Walter,

nice to here from you again - how are you? We last met here at Fritz Egger GmbH about 7 years ago :)

I still don't unterstand the error message. Version 2.0(10b) is later than 1.5(4)?!

There isn't even a download option for the 1.5 Release..

https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=286281345&softwareid=283850974&os=&release=2.0(9l)&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest&i=!pp

Cheers,

Alex

Greetings.

Obviously 2.0(10) is higher than 1.5 :)

Please see https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuz24466

Conditions:
This happens whenever the firmware versions have a double digit for its maintenance version

Workaround:
Manually edit the validation file via the shelladmin. Follow the techzone article for the same:
https://techzone.cisco.com/t5/IMC-Supervisor/Can-t-import-C240-M4-with-firmware-version-2-0-10b-not-supported/ta-p/924696

A future update to IMC supervisor will resolve this.

Thanks,

Kirk...

Hi Kirk,

ah, thats nice - so i don't have to worry about my mathematics knowledge :)

There is only one problem - i can't open the techzone page.

Tech Zone is a restricted community that requires Cisco credentials to access.

:-(

Best regards,

Alex
