Incorrect PSU Status via SNMP

We monitor our C-Series UCS Servers using PRTG via SNMP, and the CIMCs on both our 240M3 & our 220M4 seem to be providing an incorrect status for all power supplies. Everything in the web UI and front panel reports OK so, I reached out the PRTG first assuming it was a problem with their sensor, but they had me walk OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.15.56.1 on both servers, and each of them returned the below.

I'm told this indicates two power supplies with a status of "Power Problem":

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.15.56.1.7.1 = "5"
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.15.56.1.7.2 = "5"

As well as this, which I'm told indicates a degraded status for each:

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.15.56.1.8.1 = "3"
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.15.56.1.8.2 = "3"

I haven't been able to find any documentation to confirm what the returned values mean though.

Hi Steve

I think you hit the following bug:

https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCun73331

In my case, the problem was fixed with the workaround:

  • On SNMP configuration page of Cisco IMC webUI, press "Save Changes" button.

That's the bug...I wound up opening a case after not getting a response here, and they pointed me to it. I should've posted a link & the workaround afterwards.

Thanks!

If that answered your question.. could you please mark it as such for other users with the same issue?
