when i try using centos 7.3 or higher. Centos installation cannot detect disk / partition. I tried configuring Raid 0, Raid 1 and Raid 10 but it still didn't work. I tried to follow the steps to install the driver but it still hasn't detected disk / raid and I don't know if the driver was installed successfully or not.

when i try to use centos 7.0, i can detect that raid but can't partition

Can you confirm which actual 'raid' controller you are have present in your server?

In the screenshots I can see you have attempting to load the software raid (megaSR driver), but need to confirm you don't have one of the other MegaRaid controllers.

Did you have to load a 'megaSR' driver for your windows install?

Kirk...

for windows install i didn't load any driver. but i don't know if the driver is already install before. because this is old server. and i use this server just for practice and this is my first time install in real server.

I tried to install the driver like this I did not know it was correct or not and successfully installed or not.

You might want to confirm what overall HUU/firmware you are running on the server...

It's possible you are running an older firmware package which includes the SCU/MegaSR bios/firmware which may be better matched with the default old driver built into windows 2012.

I would try upgrading the HUU https://software.cisco.com/download/home/284444317/type/283850974/release/3.0(4o)?i=!pp

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/284444317/type/283291009/os/CENTOS%207.3/release/3.0(3a)?i=!pp

which will include the megasr firmware.

The driver you are using does appear to be the latest available for that server.

Kirk...

i think the version already latest because in the login cimc the version is 3.0(4a). image.png

how to install this driver ? https://software.cisco.com/download/home/284444317/type/283291009/os/CENTOS%207.3/release/3.0(3a)?i=!pp

or it is because the disk can't detect in cimc like this ?

Hello,

Did you managed to install centOS7 this server with RAID?

Regards

Based on the screenshots, 'software' raid in use, he needed to provide a mega_sr driver at boot time/install as that particular OS doesn't have a mega_sr driver present/inbox.

General process that discusses providing driver during install is at: https://docs.centos.org/en-US/centos/install-guide/DU-Updating_drivers_during_installation_x86/

Kirk..

thanks for the solution but i can't try it. because I don't manage this server anymore. thanks.
