Installing Server on Riser SSDs

I have a c240 M4 with sas drives for backup storage and ssds on the riser to install server on.

My problem is that no matter what I have tried the OS installs on the ssds but puts the system reserved partition on the sas drives.

The SSDs are in raid and show up correctly when I go through the server install. The problem is when you finally get into Server it was installed wrong.

I had the sas storage set to gpt and one partition before the install. After install you can see what happened.

Maybe delete the SAS VD, reinstall windows to your Riser based VD raid 1 mirror, which should force the use of the Riser based VD for the reserved partition.

Then re-create the SAS virtual drive, partition in windows, etc.

Thanks,

Kirk...

I took the SAS drives offline with diskpart and Server wouldn't even install on the SSDs after that.

Does your boot order contain an entry for 'pch' storage lun?

Thanks,

Kirk...

In UCS I have

Remote cd / dvd

Local lun (my ssds)
