Is Service Profile Association Automation is possible?

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all doing good.

My Question is that if we have associate a service profile with a blade-1 on a chassis and we have some other servers as well on the same chassis let say Blade-2 and Blade-3 which has the same specs as Blade-1 but they are not in use by any service profile in UCS Manager. In UCS Manager can we make any kind of automation, if Blade-1 would fail so the service profile that was associated on that blade will automatically disassociate and re-associate itself with the next available server in the UCS Manager?

Is it possible to do this or not?

Thank you so much in advance.

Best Regards

Muhammad Hasan

Hi Muhammad,

It appears that automatic failover of SP to another blade is still not supported. You can check the following post for similar query , it is a bit old but still applies

correct!  it is still valid, we do not support that kind of failover... you also may end up not knowing where your server is...
