You have to check here first: http://www.cisco.com/web/techdoc/ucs/interoperability/matrix/matrix.html

In that link, you will see (based on your hardware/software/firmware) the driver that you need to run. We just started to include a file with the driver's .iso that also tells you what version you will find within the file itself; unfortunately, prior to the latest driver's .iso we didnt have that so you will have to download them and find out if the version you need is included there.

that is not a problem...  CIMC can do that for you... do you have access to CIMC?

Hi Keny,

I need your advise. I am planning to install Windows Server 2012 R2 (64-bit) on UCS C220 M3 SFF as standalone server. I checked the link you provided to check the interoperability. I will be using the drivers version 2.0(8). Please tell me if i'm doing the right procedures here.

Thank you.

Sy

See the outputs below:

Hi Sy

Yes, ok !

Walter.

Hi Walter,

Thanks for confirmation. I'll give it a shot and see if issues encountered. I'll let you know.

Also, there is a latest version 2.0(8a).

On the link provided I can't see an option for this UCS release 2.0(8a) yet. Please advise if this will also work for the server I am using with Windows Server 2012 R2 64-bit.

Thanks,

Sy

Hi Sy

You need 2 things

ISO image of UCS-Rack related drivers  Login Required
ucs-cxxx-drivers.2.0.8a.iso
26-OCT-2015 4375.00 MB

contains the W2012 R2 drivers, e.g. enic, fnic

and

Cisco UCS Host Upgrade Utility  Login Required
ucs-c220-huu-2.0.8d.iso
09-OCT-2015

565.04 MB

Is required to update the C220-M3 server hardware, e.g. BIOS, CIMC, I/O adaptor

Walter.

Hi Walter,

Thanks for additional info. Could you send me the download link for the "Cisco UCS Host Upgrade Utility". I find hard looking for it.

Thank you for assistance.

Sy

Unified Computing System (UCS) Server Firmware-2.0(8d)

Hi Sy

You actually need both !

First upgrade the server, then the OS drivers.

Thank you Walter.

regards,

Sy

Is Cisco UCS Host Upgrade Utility required if i will use the UCS driver version 2.0(8)? If so, what version i will use for that specific 2.0(8) driver?

thanks,

Sy

Sy,

Host  Upgrade Utility only covers your firmware, which will be used for your server's hardware.... in the other hand, the drivers are for the OS to talk to the hardware, so you still need both and one is not included within the other one.

The driver version you use depends on the firmware/hardware in use so the questions has to be "what driver should I use if I want to run XXXX firmware?"

Thanks for your help. Now I am facing another problem.

How can I monitor which Hear disk is fault and if I replace it with a new heard disk,  is it rebuilding  properly  or not and process time.

Thanks
