We need suggestion . Can we install Finisar 10G-850nm VCSEL SFP.P/N-FTLX8574D3BCL in UCS 6248 FI switch to connect UCS Chassis 5108. Any draw back

Personally i would not suggest, since FI more critical part of your UCS environment while it interact other parent switch,.

If you have any issue, cisco TAC not able to support, so i do not see major cost difference going with cisco and non cisco brand.

While you are free to choose what ever SFPs you want, when you call into TAC for support with connectivity issues, TAC is not going to spend a large amount of time troubleshooting unsupported SFPs.

You really want to use SFPs listed on the specsheet.

I have had a number of cases over the years where unsupported SFPs were causing CRCs, or frame loss, and the port counters don't always reflect those, making troubleshooting much more complex.
