New b260 m4 cisco blades

We have 4 new B260 M4 blades, and I am wondering if they can be installed in the 3rd and 4th row of the chassis or do they have to be in the top 2 rows?

Thanks!

Hi Jefferson,

No problem to install wherever you want. All slots in the chassis have the same architectural connections.

Hi Jeff

The intallation guide below recommends the following:

Installing a Blade Server

Full-width Blade Servers are intended to run in the upper slots of the chassis, if the chassis will house both full-width and half-width servers. A chassis with four full width servers is fully supported.

Hi manvelas,

There is an issue that might happen when removing the slot divider firstly from the bottom to the top, , the order where the server is installing in the chassis doesn't change anything, just the server number in the discover process.

Anyway you can follow the procedure mentioned in the document.
