New Blade Service Profile

Hello Community,

we bought some new blades and also a new chassie. The chassie is up and running and now i want to add the new blades into it and assign my service profile.

But there is one difference between the old ones and the new blade. The new have no disks on it. The Service Profile is configured to use the local disk als raid 1.

Do i have to create a new Service Template or is it fine to use the old one also if there are no disks in the new blade?

We use boot from SAN anyway.

Thanks

Frank

If your old blades are no longer in service, then you can modify your service profile templates to match you current setup, which will include modifying the local disk policy to no 'no Local Storage'.

Obviously you have to create new boot from san policies, and have vHBA/iSCSI vnics defined.

Also check to see if you have customized BIOS policies that may not apply to your new blades/processors.

Hello Kirk,

i have duplicate the SP and change the setting needed. That was easier for us.

Thanks

Frank
