Nexus 1000v 4.2(1)SV2(2.1a) - License Question

I have two VSM's (vm's) running in HA pair on two blade servers in same HP chassis. In the beginning I was running the 1000v environment using the Eval licensing but now I have installed the Cisco provided license files.

My question is this: When I invoke the command "show license usage NEXUS1000V_LAN_SERVICES_PKG" I see the 6 installed Licenses, however, I also see that the "Installed Licenses in Use equals 0.  Should I see Installed Licenses in Use equal 2?

The installed licenses are used for Advanced Edition.  I suspect your switch is still in Essential Edition mode since there isn't a Count or License Version for those modules.  Check output of sh switch edition.

Example:

SV2# sh switch edition

Switch Edition: Advanced  <------

Advanced Features

Feature Name    Feature State

-----------------------------

cts             disabled

dhcp-snooping   disabled

vxlan-gateway   enabled

Licenses Available: 22

Licenses In Use: 10    <---------------

License Expiry Date:

That is exactly what it was.

I switched it from Essential to Advanced and now I see exactly what I was expecting to see.

vdivc01-n1kv# show license usage NEXUS1000V_LAN_SERVICES_PKG

Application

----------------------------------------

VEM 3 - Socket 1

VEM 3 - Socket 2

VEM 4 - Socket 1

VEM 4 - Socket 2
