P3V_BAT_SCALED

Hi All,

I have an alert for the CMOS battery on the system board of a blade server in a Cisco UCS B440 M2.

- CIMC | Voltage P3V_BAT_SCALED #0x00 | Lower Non-critical - going low | Asserted | Reading 2.42 <= Threshold 2.42 Volts

I reviewed the sensors and see that it is down to 2.112 volts

Sensor Name | Reading | Unit | Status | LNR | LC | LNC | UNC | UC | UNR |
===============|=========|=======|========|=====|=======|=======|=====|====|=====|
P3V_BAT_SCALED | 2.112 | Volts | LNC | na | 1.993 | 2.416 | na | na | na |

Looking to hold off replacing it since it is end of life for support, but not sure of the batteries purpose and if there will be a potential issue/service impact if I wait too long as the voltage level continues to drop over time.

Tried to open a case with TAC, but can't since it is EOL.

Can anyone help to answer these questions?

Thanks, rkerk

Greetings.

Those are just CR2032 batteries that you can pickup at your local drugstore.

The service profiles and related policies tend to reapply anything that would  be theoretically 'lost' if the server was powered off, and CMOS battery completely died.
