I got VMs on the same vlan as the pxe/tftp serer but they are not pxe booting. I have the vlans right.

how do I do a packet trace from the vm to the pxe server via the FI?

Are you learning the MAC address of the VM on the Fabric Interconnect in the right VLAN?

Are you tagging the VLAN as native?

not tagging the vlan as native in UCS. multiple vlans is on the vmnic. in vmware, a specific vlan is tag on the vswitch

I did a sh mac address table on the FI and found the mac of the VM. so its getting up to the FI

yes i see the mac address in the FI ob both A and B

Are there any logs on the TFTP server side you can check?

Can you check the DHCP server and see if it is assigning an address?

I dont think its getting to the DHCP server. I think I would have seen an IP address assigned seen on the VM console. But it keeps timing out.
