Redhat 8.4 on UCS C220 M5 Rack Server

Hello,

I can't update my Redhat 8.1 to 8.4 because the megasr module is not available for Redhat 8.4 !

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286318809/type/283853158/release/4.2(1c)

Last month update gives only drivers for Redhat 8.2, is it a joke?

And it is only a weak-update module...

How can we run production server if we can't apply last kernel?

Still no solution and openning a case to the support was useless...

When buying a PRODUCTION server for Redhat be careful that all important driver are OPEN SOURCE and in the mainline kernel !!!

How is Cisco managing the Linux compatibiliy ?

Are Cisco server usable in PRODUCTION Linux server with up to date Linux distribution ?

Still no Redhat 8.4 support in last Cisco "Inventory list for 4.1.3h driver"...

Neither October nor November release are providing suitable driver...

Rumors are telling me that MegaSR 8.4 should be available Q1-2022.

But MegaSR (software raid) is end of support from the hardware supplier...

You should not use this in a production hosts.

Maybe use UCS-M2-HWRAID  instead...

Redhat 8.4 Still not supported.

4.1.x ISO series gives only INTEL c600 for redhat 8.3 (same old binary/proprietary driver with a new 8.3 "skin")

4.2.x ISO series, INTEL c600 is not even present !

Redhat 8.4 Still not supported.

Is it possible to use this controller in AHCI Mode with Redhat (I know it is recommended for ESXi) and than get ride of this old and not really supported megasr driver ?
