Hi

I have a UCS-C220-M3SBE3 with a fail hard drive the HDD part number is A03-D500GC3 and this HDD have 500G capacity, but this part number is end of sale... the replace part number for this HDD is UCS-HD1T7K12G and this HDD have a 1T of capacity.

Can I have any problem with the raid with HDD with deferent sizes?

Right now I don't have CICM administration also I can't see what type of raid is setting... but it's a default configuration for a Cisco BE6000.

Thanks.

Greetings.

You can replace a failed drive with the same technology drive with equal or greater capacity.  The raid rebuild on the larger drive will simply utilize the original size (probably 470 GB) and leave the rest unused.

Your original drive was type sata, and the replacement sku you mentioned lists SAS type, which is allowed (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/hw/C220/install/C220/raid.html#33715 )

Thanks,

Kirk...
