Reset UCS 6296 or not?

I need to re-purpose a pair of FI's and blade servers. I am considering doing a factory re-set and rebuilding UCSM pools, templates, service profiles etc....If I do this will the applied port licenses be lost? The individual who applied the license is no longer with the company and I am unsure of how to retrieve or re-apply license.

If you just clear the configuration on the switches, the licenses should remain in tact.

I don't believe the applied licenses actually get removed during a general erase config process.

You might want to open a TAC case with licensing, and provide the serial #s of the FIs, and ask to get a copy of the license files associated with them if you want to make sure you have a plan B.
