RMA of Failed Disk Drives

Customer has several of our UCS C-Series servers in their data center.

They have a Disk Retension policy that says if the drive goes bad and needs to be replaced / RMA'ed they need to keep the failed drive for distruction.  Question is does TAC want the drives back in this case?

Thanks.

Yes, a return item for the drive is added to the RMA unless they have drive retention in their service contract:

Richard,

You may check the RMA (using the tracking link provided byTAC) and find 'Return' tab if that says 'yes' you need to return the hard drive.

Now if you have drive retention policy you need to contact Cisco's Asset recovery team and fill a destruction form.

Thanks & Regards,

SK
