UCS 6120 and 1 Gbps Uplink

Hi

how can I set My UCS 6120 Xp to 1 Gpbs speed as Uplink to my Upsteream switch I have only 1 G CLC MM Gbig

MY UCS is 1.2 shall I need to Upgrade the software ????

Yes, you need to be on 1.3 to support the 1GB uplink option. With firmware 1.3 the first 8 fixed ports are the only ones that support 1GB.

I downloaded the software bundle 1.3(1) , I will do  it tommorw at site , The Upgrade needs any technical Approval from cisco

or just follow the guide to make it

Using 1 gb uplink can lead to unpredicatable behavior. If load balancing on say esx is sending traffic between two hosts on the same fi it will be 10gb. If f it goes out say vnic1 on one host and back in vnic0 on the other it has to go via 1gb. Tis can lead to sometimes traffic between two servers is 10gb sometimes it's 1gb.
