UCS-C200-M2 Memory Questions

I was trying to understand the description in the picture below.

Question #1: Are the part numbers below is for a single piece of memory stick?  Or it could be multiple pieces?

Question #2: If they are for a single piece, why 8GB would have the same price as 4GB?  e.g. N01-M308GB2-L is 8GB with $435.  N01-M304GB1-L is 4GB with $435.

Question #3: What does "dual rank", "single rank" and "quad rank" mean?  Why does it matter?

Question #4: What does "1Gb DRAMs", "2Gb DRAMs" mean?  Why does it matter?

Question #5: Can we mix memory sticks with different sizes (4GB and 8GB)?  If yes, what are the valid combinations?

Thanks!

Michael,

My thoughts inline

Question #1: Are the part numbers below is for a single piece of memory stick?  Or it could be multiple pieces?

*** Single memory module

Thank you very much for the detailed info.  +5

Michael,

To add further, server models that uses Extended Memory technology ( ex B250 ) have strict memory population requirements. For those servers, DIMMs are sold in pair and have to be replaced together.
